So - the term is up and we reach the final milestone. I'm fairly pleased with my progress, and I'm looking forward to taking a short break before getting back into development. It's been an enlightening process, one during which I finally embraced third-party tools instead of needlessly wanting to make everything from scratch myself. At this stage, what matters is that something gets done, regardless of the method.
There are still tutorials for Bolt that I need to run through - particularly the advanced section which, so far, I haven't touched yet. I also need to think more about playtesting - doing this on my own, it's nigh impossible to give myself feedback - controlling two instances of the game at once isn't easy, let alone looking out for bugs and game design issues at the same time.
With the exception of powerups, all my core game mechanics are in place. Time spent from now on will be more focused on whether the player dynamic created fits my vision, as well as working on improving the aesthetic portion - actually taking the time to properly model/texture objects, for example. I also want to refine some of the code, especially the wall spawning - it's still not as smooth as I'd hoped.
